Stuart Good, SC3/c


Stuart Good was proud of his service on the USS Hadley. His main duties were as a cook, but he was also a leader.

Stuart was blown off the ship on May 11, 1945. He was in the water for several hours and suffered burns as well as injuring his leg. He was flown to a hospital in Hawaii. He later received a Purple Heart for his injuries sustained under enemy fire.

After his discharge, he returned to his native Medford, Oregon. There he went on to own and operate several hamburger stands.

Stuart passed away December 31st, 1994 at the age of 81. He was survived by his wife Irene and two daughters. His wife has since passed away.
