Frost

Harold Wilfred Frost Sr. was born in Brooklyn NY to Perley and Gladys (Hausrath) Frost on August 16, 1922. He was raised in Bedford Mass and later in Brighton Mass. Harold had a sister, Agnes who was born March 19, 1928.
Harold met his wife, Virginia, in San Francisco during the war and they later raised a family of four boys, Harold Jr., Charles, Richard and Brian, in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. Harold graduated from Northeastern University in 1957 and worked for the Postal Service until his retirement in 1982. Harold was a window clerk in the Back Bay station and became a foreman, supervisor and later a manager of the Waltham, Jamaica Plain and finally the Weston station.

Harold was a member of the color guard in the Princemen Drum and Bugle Corps of Malden, Massachusetts for many years. Harold passed away on June 10, 1983 following surgery for a triple bypass heart operation, his second such procedure.
Harold was extremely proud of his time aboard the USS Hadley. Although he spoke about it very rarely, when he did so his pride for his ship and shipmates was quite evident.
